Top 10 towns, city in drug affectation INABANGA, Bohol – Still, Tagbilaran City topped the latest count as far as illegal drug affectation is concerned, Philippine National Police said. The municipality of Talibon came in next of the top 10, including the towns of Inabanga, Getafe, Clarin, Ubay, Panglao, Carmen, Tubigon and Dauis. Ten barangays of the city mentioned in police report during the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) meeting held here the other day in this town were drug affected. These barangaya are Taloto, Bo-ol, Cogon, Mansasa, Dao, Poblacion I, Poblacion 2, Poblacion 3, Ubujan and Manga, PNP report said. Talibon, Getafe, Ubay, Tubigon and Tagbilaran City are the places identified by Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency (PDEA) as the entry points of illegal drugs supply because of the availability of seaports. Barangays of Talibon said to be drug-affected are: Poblacion, San Jose, San Francisco, San Isidro, San Pedro, Tanghaligue, Bagacay, island-barangays of Calituban, Guindacpan and Cataban. Inabanga — barangays of Cuaming, Tungod, Ilaud, Cogon, Badiang, Cawayan, Dagohoy, Lawis and Sto. Rosario. Clarin —- barangays Bacani, Poblacion Centro, Poblacion Norte, Poblacion Sur, Caboy, Bungtongbod, Bonbon, Nahawan, Lajog and Tontonan. On airport aggregates, heavy equipment haul  Panglao officials  oppose rerouting     PANGLAO, Bohol – Officials here made their sentiment felt by strongly objecting to the planned rerouting in the hauling of aggregates, heavy equipment and other materials needed for the construction of New Bohol Airport.   In their formal two-page letter dated June 11, 2015 addressed to Japan Airport Consultants (JAC) thru Gov. Edgar Chatto, Mayor Leonila P. Montero and Vice-Mayor Pedro Fuertes said they “vehemently oppose to the idea and decision of re-routing all the aggregates and heavy equipment by putting up the landing pad at the municipality of Alburquerque, Bohol or by using the port of the City of Tagbilaran, Bohol passing through the two bridges connecting Tagbilaran City to Panglao Island and passing by the municipalities of Dauis and finally Pangla, the site of the proposed airport.”   Mayor Montero and Vice-Mayor Fuertes confirmed this to the Bohol News Today in an exclusive interview yesterday at her office. Cops raid drug den yields guns, drugs

        PANGLAO. – A composite police team raided a suspected drug den in barangay Danao this town early morning yesterday which yielded a firearm and illegal drugs as the object of the raid escaped from arrest. The raid was conducted on the basis of a search warrant against one William Tecson, married and a owner of the house believed to be a drug den by the police. Unfortunately, Tecson was able to evade arrest upon sensing the presence of the policemen in the area at around 6 o’clock yesterday morning. But the raiding team was able to confiscate three pieces of medium-sized transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believe to be “shabu” and one piece BB Llama .22 caliber without serial number. In the process of the raid, policemen arrested three suspected drug personalities who scampered on different direction when the policemen arrived. Police identified the drug personalities as Epri Fuentes y Perario, single and a resident of barangay Tawala; Elmer Buntag y Avilino, single and a resident of same place and one Candelario Horcerada y Curpos. single and a resident of Danao, Panglao. Man stabbed near bus terminal due to jealousy

      TAGBILARAN CITY.- Early morning passengers yesterday were horrified to see a wounded man, bathed by his own blood, running towards the terminal office of the bus terminal here seeking for assistance after he was stabbed near the area. Inday Inting, terminal supervisor of the Integrated BusTerminal (IBT) immediately contacted Tarsier 117 which brought the victim to the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (CGMH) here. The victim, identified as one Gil Toreregosa, 33 years old, married and a resident of Purok 2, Dampas District this city, sustained stab wound in his left arm and another wound near his left armpit. Initial police investigations said the victim was walking at around 8 o’clock in the morning yesterday from his residence. When he passed by at the residence of the suspect, identified as one Rufino Visto alias “Dong”, married and also a resident of the said place, he was attacked by the latter. Reports said Torregosa did not have any altercation with the suspect before the incident. Police probers said the attack could be pre-meditated as the suspect immediately stabbed the victim with his knife. Police said they are looking into the angle of jealousy to be behind the stabbing incident. TAGBILARAN CITY. – Let’s give way to the power of having a closed-circuit television (CCTV) in paving the way for city policemen to identify the assailant in the May 14 early dawn shooting here of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW). In less than 100 hours after the shooting incident last Thursday dawn, acting city police chief George A. Vale has finally identified the gunman who shot and killed one Geenave “Janjan” Ocionez Lopez, 39 years old and a resident of sitio Katugasan, Dampas district here. Vale said the identity of the assailant came after they invited one Jhon Rex Bernales y Bagolor, 24 years old, single and a resident of Janssen Heights, Dampas District here regarding the abandoned motorcycle Honda Wave with plate no. 2030 GK color black and white with color orange rim, wherein the said motorcycle was used by the suspect during the shooting incident last Thursday dawn. Bernales personally identified the said motorcycle and claimed that he bought it from Dunkey P, Cimafranca, a resident of Airport Road, Brgy. Cogon last February. Records at the city police force revealed that this police character is the no. 3 most wanted person and has no less than three warrants of arrest for murdeer, frustrated homicide and for violation of Republic Act 9165. When the city police was tipped on the presence of the police character at the Causeway Drive in Poblacion 1 this city, a joint police team was immediately formed in order to cause the arrest of the wanted person. Erico Aristotle C. Aumentado said yesterday. Aumentado, coordinating with line government agencies in Manila which is a the hallmark of his father, is hell bent in developing the Ubay airport in Barangay Camambugan this town. The second district solon personally met Sec. Emilio “Jun” Abaya of the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) at his office in Manila last Tuesday for the inclusion of the budget for the Ubay airport development in the 2016 budget. The following day, Aumentado set an appointment with Deputy Director General Rodante Joya, representative of Civil Aeronautics Authority of the Philippines (CAA) Director General William K. Hotchkiss. In that meeting, the second district solon sought for the improvement of the Ubay airport in making it as a Hub for Flying Schools in Central Visayas. Also discussed during the meeting of Aumentado and Joya was the request of  local government unit of Talibon about the CAAP property that can be under the disposal of the Talibon LGU. However Joya disclosed that CAAP will allow the LGU of Talibon only to use the land owned by CAAP there. The senator was supposed to launch his “Go Negosyo” program in the different municipalities in the province. Liza Florez, the senator’s provincial coordinator in Bohol made the announcement yesterday who gave no reason for the cancellation of Aquino’s visit here today. Aquino, 37, is the youngest member of the Philippine Senate. Florez said that Aquino was slated to launch his pet project in the towns in Bohol. The project is on top of the senator’s priority undertakings in the last 2013 elections when he was elected due to his support for Filipino entrepreneurship. The towns where the senator was slated to visit today have already prepared for the senator’s coming. Florez said the senator’s office in Manila did not give any reason for the cancellation of the senator’s scheduled visit here. Sen. Hacking suspect wants to throw his weight around

TAGBILARAN CITY. – This guy wanted to throw his weight around at the city central market the other day by hacking a victim and tried to get away with it by simply staying at the area until the police arrived and arrested him. At around 6 o’clock in the morning the other day, the city police station  received a telephone call from a concerned citizen informing the police on duty that a hacking incident figured particularly at Dao public market here. City policemen presently detailed at Dao police community precinct immediately responded to the place of incident. However, upon their arrival at the alleged place of incident the victim, identified as one Charlie Guisihan y Cuya, 32 years old, single, a native of San Isidro, Calape, Bohol presently residing at Barangay Dampas this city, was already brought to Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) for immediate medical attention. Thereafter, the responding policemen proceeded to the regional hospital here in order to verify and personally made a conversation to the victim. Guisihan told the responding policemen that the person who hacked him is a certain Mikoy of Barangay Songcolan, Dauis. The policemen then went back to the city central market in Dao together with the victim particularly at the place where the incident transpired.
