The swivel chair I was sitting while reading Internet news almost turned upside down when I came upon an article that said police generals were getting paid by big time-drug lords the amount of Seven Million pesos per week. Repeat P7,000,000.00 to protect the drug business. I was really disgusted and if I have my way, I will punch the faces of these corrupt public officials. They should be thrown to septic tanks.

I am confused if Pres. Duterte’s naming the corrupt government officials are just for fun, to humiliate and ridicule them or to expose their shenanigans in public office and nothing follows. I am hoping drastic measures should be accorded them – – maybe throw them to the lake populated by crocodiles or piranhas.

Killing the drug lords is a good program of the government. But killing those who surrendered already is definitely a bad attitude and program of our new administration. News reports revealed that many drug dealers who got back to the fold of the law were still killed after few days they reported to the police and vowed not to indulge in drug business anymore.

Mayor Erap Estrada must be joking when he said there are only 82 drug lords in Manila. And that he has instructed the police to intensify the drive against the illegal use thereof. By his belief, there are more drug lords in Cagayan de Oro and Cebu than in Manila. I see this as ridiculous or is he protecting some drug lords? I stayed in Manila for a long time during my student days and I cannot figure out such big districts as Sampaloc, Malate, Ermita, Quiapo, etc. have only 82 drug lords, pushers and users.

Will there be war soon? The permanent arbitrary tribunal in the Hague will render its decision on July 12 on the disputes of the seas filed by the Philippines against China. The latter declared it will not honor whatever decision on the matter because the area in the Scarborough- – – subject of the disputes belongs to it. The sea lane at issue is major traffic for commercial ships around the world besides being filled with oil deposits and other rich minerals. It is worth fighting for! America is in the picture because it wants the passage of ships undisturbed, a thing China resented, hence the rising tension between the two big superpowers. If we noticed, America has deployed its modern and advance fighter jets in the area. What for if there is no prospect of a big war?

I congratulate the Philippine troops for killing 40 members and wounding 25 others of the Abu Sayyaf groups in Jolo. The Abu Sayyaf is the master of kidnapping for ransom and inhuman beheading of hostages. They have tremendously exposed us to extreme shame around the globe. I truly believe they deserve to be annihilated completely to put to an end their terrifying business. If we can also cut off their heads, the better.

Notwithstanding the lapse of several decades, some people are still talking about who really killed Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr., husband of Pres. Cory Aquino and father of immediate past president Noynoy Aquino. To me this is a dead issue. If Cory failed to solve the problem and so with her son Noynoy, who are we too know such thing now? Some people think it was then Pres. Marcos who ordered the killing, but there never was a concrete evidence linking the latter to the crime. All speculations, therefore, have no basis or the slightest semblance of truth.

The must be some special features in shabu that really attract everybody. In Manila, even the poor people use shabu. In Bacoor, Cavite, 800 shabu drug lords, peddlers and users surrendered. In urbans cities in Metro Manila, hundreds have surrendered to the police. The problem that is in my mind is whether these surrenderees would really stop using shabu and other prohibited drugs. And it is only now that I realized how big the problem of illegal drugs is. Thanks Pres. Digong for your resourcefulness on drugs.

To prove that we meant business in our campaign against the use of illegal drugs, let us now begin arresting some members of congress who are allegedly known users or protectors too. They also deserve to be killed upon sight. We should not confine ourselves in the small groups of users who could not even afford to hire legal counsels if their relatives are shot dead.

This is the case of a lovely girl from Mindanao who had two sweethearts – – a Filipino and an American. The Filipino boyfriend had intimate moments with the girl. The American who was serious about her flew all the way from America to marry her. He spent a lot of money, giving gift to the girl and family. The girl fell in love too with the American. It is a confused love, that knows no bounds. She maintained two lovers at the same time enjoying what she thought was a blessing. One day the police discovered her lifeless body in her home without a clue who murdered her. It was the end of a romance that proved one more that love triangle is destined to end in tears. It should serve a lesson to the girls with bad habits, or foolish. BEN EMATA Bennex News Service
