TUBIGON, Bohol – Mayor Marlon Amila bared that his administration welcomes fresh investments to pour in this bustling port town he leads, citing the on-going construction of new buildings of the Alturas Group of Companies and Bohol Quality.
Aside from these, probably key players in retail business, like the Gaisano in Cebu, are expected to come in and do business as well here, the mayor said.
He said that he’s happy to announce this since the retail stores would definitely spur economic activities and creates job opportunities for his constituents. And this also shows that the investment climate is conducive.
Amila, who is seeking for reelection, said that this town is still pushing for huge stride in the struggle to build back this town better following the earthquake in October 2015 that did not spare this town from destruction and damages.
Alturas company is already starting to construct structures in a strategic area for its store soon near the McDonald’s, the newest addition in fast food industry situated in the former lot where the old municipal hall once stood, just across the public market.
Bohol Quality also is also into erecting steel structures along the national highway, also a strategic place nearby public market and the town’s seaport.
Amila also said that the new port passenger terminal building is already finished like the new police building.
He also bared that the on-going construction of a new municipal hall building is already 50% finished. This is being funded by Bohol Earthquake Assistance (BEA) fund in the amount of some Php62 million. It started in May and expected to be finished before May 15, 2016, the town’s annual fiesta celebration. (rvo)
