2 shot dead in city ambush last night

TAGBILARAN CITY – Another two victims were shot dead in what could be an ambush incident last night.

Initial report reaching Bohol News Today said that Marcos Alangade, married, age unknown and resident of Muslim village, barangay Taloto of this city and his companion Joseph Otero “Choychoy” Bumaat, Jr., single, and former security guard of a pawnshop were waylaid dead.

The two were riding on a single motorcycle when shot by unidentified gunmen along the Pres. Carlos P. Garcia north national highway near the city cockpit. The victims were hit on their heads, the report said.

A certain Ruth Alangade, the sister of one of the victims, hinted that the shooting could be illegal drugs related.

Investigators found three bullet empty shells on the crime scene. But no other details yet given by the police investigators as of 11: 45 last night.

The cadaver of Alangade was taken care of by Muslim brothers apparently to observe their practice in burial while that of Bumaat was brought to Holy Name funeraria here.

Meanwhile, the family reportedly still seeks justice of the killing on Aug. 26 of Steve Pocoy Bolatete, said to be a youngster, a resident of Sta. Cruz, Poblacion III in this city. He was shto dead infront of the provincial Capitol.

Other victims of dreaded shooting included William Tan Velez, alias “Godo,” 34, married and resident of Upper Dela Paz, Cortes town was shot to death at past ten PM along Tamblot street near Camp Dagohoy in this city.

Former P02 Jaime Perdigon, alias “Jimmy,” was shot to death in barangay Manga, this city. Initial report said that “personal grudges” could be the culprit of Perdigon’s killing but illegal drugs was not ruled out, PSUpt George A. Vale said.

It will be recalled that a certain Reynaldo Pocoy, 37, alias “Ramine,” 37, single and resident of Sta. Cruz, Poblacion III in this city was shot to death in what police said an illegal drug related shootings that appeared unabated in the city.

A certain Japee Paparon, 26, single and a resident of purok 8, barangay Lourdes, Panglao town, was shot to death recently infront of the Bohol Light Company/Bohol Water Utilities Inc. offices, just few meters from Land Transportation Office (LTO) along Enerio street in this city.

Prior to Paparon’s shooting, one Pio John Aceron, 26 years old, single resident of Visarra St., Poblacion II, Tagbilaran City was killed while walking on his way home along M. Torralba St., police report said. Geenave “Janjan” Ociones Lopez was another of shooting incident and died due to fatal gunshot wounds on his head.

Police identified the victim as one Mark Anthony Itac de Guzman, 44, single and resident of purok 4A, barangay Tiptip, this city, was shot to death a week before the annual fiesta celebration of this capital city on May first.

A certain Rodalyn Gamba, 20, a college student and native of Banderahan, Valencia town, was believed to be gang-raped. The suspect who appeared to be her boyfriend was arrested in Mindanao. Her lifeless body was found dumped in a bushy area not far from roadside along B. Inting street in this city recently.

On Valentines Day, Engr. Maurito Lim, a blocktimer of DyRD was gunned down at close range that caused his immediate death. Police has already arrested the suspect and filed murder case in court. The former city councilor’s son, identified as Oscar Glovasa was also gunned down for unknown motive, police said.

A suspect of snatching, identified as one Arnold Espinoza, 22, of Cebu was shot to death by “riding in tandem.” Police believe that illegal drugs dealers are fighting each other, including those who fail to remit the drug money, Vale earlier hinted.

A certain Giovanni Cuizon, who was believed as a close associate of then dismissed police officer the late Owen Rosales, was killed. Rosales was believed to have hatched to kill former police chief of Ubay, George Caña. Prior to Cuizon’s death, a certain Ritchie Campanilla, resident of barangay Dao here and Edwin alias “Awing” Tare, also of barangay Dao, were likewise victims of killing.

Another drug-related murder was that of Aliwayway Solis, a manager of one of the videoke bar in this city. She was shot in broad daylight and died at corner Palma street and CPG avenue.
