TURNOVER OF UBI PROCESSING CENTER UNDER DAR’s VLPCEP PROJECT.  The Department of Agrarian Reform in Bohol turned-over an Ubi-Processing Center projectwith a total amount of  P611,177.72 in Villafuerte, Carmen within the Agrarian Reform Community (ARC) El Promontevilla last May 20.  This DAR’s intervention for the agrarian farmers is under the Village Level Processing Center Enhancement Program (VLPCEP) with counterpart-funding from the local government unit (LGU) Carmen in the amount of P97,055.50 in terms of labor, the value of the lot and supervision while the concerned People’s Organization shared in the amount of P14,122.22 for overhead and contingencies. This projectaims to develop market competitive ARB products approved by the Foods and Drugs Administration (FDA) in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for the product development training and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program for its funding support to enhance enterprise and livelihood activities for their economic gain.  During the turnover ceremony, PARPO Grace Fua (with key) of DAR Bohol led the cutting of ribbon and turnover the key of responsibility to LGU Carmen as represented by Atty. EleizerCagol (3rd from right) then to the recipient of the project headed by JoselitoBarrite (rightmost), the Chairman of the Villafuerte Multi-purpose Cooperative.
